Essential oils for slipped disc, Lumbago and sciatica

Recipe for slipped disc

The first three days the area has to be treated with ice, without applying pressure, just cooling and soothing the inflammation, repeating the procedure several times during the day. Only afterwards you can start very gently rubbing essential oils into the skin.

Here’s a blend to use:

10 drops rosemary
10 drops peppermint
5 drops ginger
5 drops eucalyptus
2 tablespoons carrier oil

!!! Of course if the pain is severe and therefore the injury as well it is recommended to see a doctor

!!! For more serious conditions of the back a more conscious and complex treatment is desired.

Recipe for lower back pains (Lumbago):

10 drops ginger
10 drops lavender
5 drops rosemary
5 drops marjoram

The oils are mixed in a 5 ml bottle. This blend can be infused in cold compresses – for this put 12 drops of the blend in a recipient with 2 cups of cold water and soak a cloth to be applied to the painful area.

You can also massage your back, but be careful to do it gently and only diluted in carrier oil (grapeseed or sweet almond oil) – 8 drops of the blend in 4 tablespoons of carrier oil.

The blend can be mixed in the bath water as well – 4-6 drops of the oil blend is diluted in 1 tablespoon of milk and then poured into the tub. The pains in the back can also be associated with troubles of the sciatic nerve, causing discomfort to the thighs, hips, buttocks, continuing its reverb downwards to the feet.

It’s one ache that we all got to know because, as I’ve already said earlier, we sit too much, in a terrible posture.

Sciatica recipe:

12 drops lavender
10 drops rosemary
10 drops marjoram

The oils are mixed in a 5 ml bottle and can be used in cold compresses (especially for strong pains, thus a more severe inflammation), for massage or infused in the bath water.

First you have to melt the bees wax in a double boiler, then combine it with the almond oil, grapeseed oil and the E vitamin oil and leave it rest for a couple of minutes. Afterwards add the essential oils and swirl to mix. The blend should be left at least 2 hours before using it.

Black pepper is the miraculous ingredient to use to detention your muscles, if you have muscular cramps, muscle fever, arthritis. Eucalyptus and cypress also work wonders.
